I agree this is a disaster, I log into 20 companies and jump between them all day but I know with this 20-30 minute timer ticking in the background it is going to drive me nuts - do I waste time clicking into each file within 20mins or do I suffer the constant logging in if I don't?? I also work from home, am in NZ and therefore do not see the need for this extra security. Why is this a blanket decision? There is no requirement for it in NZ and nobody wants this feature from what I am reading on this post. It has been bad enough just having to log in and do 2FA for each file at the start of the day net alone what I'm going to be forced to do constantly next week. I am going to be less efficient only having one or two files logged in and jumping in and out of files all day or opening 20 and constantly log back in :-( MYOB this is an absolute nightmare you are creating!!
Hi Natasha
As a multi company business, this seems very similar situation to me. Also, only 3 of my myob files have activated payroll. They have now changed with the upgrade all files even Trade only Myob file had to activate the payroll section to be able to add a salesperson for the sales section.
Myob! why can't you have the 2FA operating only! when connecting payroll to the ATO when uploading information of that payroll on that day for say maybe 5 minutes. This seems to me a better choice.
Also, at the cold face of retail store which have no payroll, now with no choice but to have the payroll activated. Now will be locked out every 20-30 minutes. This is not acceptable in a retail situation. You are going to have many companies looking for other software in the coming next financial year. I don't know who makes these rash decisions.
