Why are we making this change?

The end of AccountEdge support was announced in April 2022. Since then, MYOB ceased to provide new features, patches, compliance updates, or product support for the software.  AccountEdge is built on technology that no longer meets current security, performance, and compliance standards. Our focus is investing in developing newer technologies that better align with the evolving needs of our customers.

Our commitment to you

At MYOB, we're committed to supporting your business far into the future. Our goal is to deliver solutions that help you save time, increase efficiency, and collaborate better with your advisors. As we evolve our technology and services, our commitment to your success remains our top priority.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss your options, please contact us. Our team will work with you to make your transition as smooth as possible.

Hi Wingnut , We announced the end of life of AccountEdge in 2022 and allowed customers to continue to use it since then, with a view that they would move to more secure and modern programs. We feel that we have allowed enough time for this transition.

  • "Customers do typically own this software through a perpetual licence" which also includes full use in perpetuity. The 28th Feb 26 shutdown date (EOFY being March 31st 26) for those of us who reject a subscription/cloud platform will have wasted a serious amount of data input. My 2004 Accountedge licence has no option for MYOB to refuse file validation, you have a duty to restore ongoing functionality unless you can provide a legal reason for this announcement, you know what you must do.

Hi Liz5 , upgrading to the latest software is an option available to customers and this change is not a 'money grab' from MYOB.

The AccountEdge (and AccountRight Classic) software has been unsupported since 2022 meaning there has been no further development of this software.
Refer to the 'why are we making this change' section of the announcement for more on the impact of this.

Customers do typically own this software through a perpetual licence and will still retain ownership of the files and data. Once the next prompt to confirm comes, the files will move to read only.

If you do proceed with upgrading to subscriptions, we have a much more flexible range of software now and you can have each file on the software that suits its needs rather than all files needing to have the same.

    HiLiz5

MYOB have said this a couple of times before and I’ve received an email from another user to say that they’re doing this with AccountRight as well. If they do insist on this avenue, there is a third-party who can provide confirmation at a reasonable cost. Contact FGH Tables for assistance.

    Cheers

    Liz

  • This is a pure money grab! Those who still use version 19 own the files so MYOB can't continually charge them.  I have multiple files- I can't afford to have them all on subscription.
