Missing transactions from Bank statement affecting EOY balance.

I am having trouble balancing EOY. I have been able to narrow it down to some transactions in February which are on the bank statement but not in MYOB. The bank feed was only set up at end of February and I don't want to import bank statements again as there are only a few transactions that are missing. Can they be entered manually? The Bank Reconciliation is currently showing as balanced, so I am getting quite confused and frustrated.

    Hi DETContracting,

     

    I appreciate your post. Assuming that a few missing transactions are dated before you have set up your bank feeds, If these transactions are not crucial, you might not need to import them. If you do, they might remain unallocated because there's no matching transaction in your system.

     

    Since you've recently set up your bank feeds, only transactions that happened after the setup will appear. Given that your bank reconciliation is showing as balanced, it might be best to overlook these missing transactions from your bank statement. However, this depends on the importance of these missing transactions.

     

    Remember, if you import them, they might just sit unallocated. So it's a decision you'll need to make based on the significance of these transactions.

    I talked to the Accountant and we figured out to do entires as payments and deposits manually.

    my bank feed for my credit card stopped working when my card was compromised and my new card allocated is unable to be a direct bank feed due to it being a 'private credit card' and not a business credit card. So after using bank feeds for years and years for my small business, I am not interested in upgrading my credit card to a business credit card, so I have manually entered all the transactions into myob under the credit card nominated ledger.. they are not showing up when I look at them, the only ones showing are the bank feeds that occurred before they stopped.. where are the entries I spent hours 'spending money'  why are they not showing, how can I complete my BAS without being confident that the outgoings like petrol are being accounted for?

    Hi barbara3Wills,

     

    Transactions you record manually won’t show up in the bank feed window because the bank feed is what your bank provides to MYOB. So if you manually recorded spend money transactions without using bank feeds, they’ll appear in other banking windows but not the bank feed window. To ensure all your expenditures are accounted for, you might want to reconcile your account for that period. Here’s a guide on how to do it.
