Long Service Leave at Half Pay

Hi, I have an employee that has asked to take their Long Service Leave at Half pay.  I am unsure of how to set this up as a category - and require assistance.  Does anyone know how to do this?

    Hi RachelDodson,

To process a long service leave at half pay, you just need to adjust the pay rate to half of the employee's usual rate. See this link about Long Service for the detailed instructions.

    Kind regards,

    • Hi Shella,

thanks for your reply.  However, when setting up the category at half (.05) or half the rate - it still reduces the LSL hours by the full amount - not half.  So we are paying at half rate,  but taking 45 hours out of the Long Service Leave.  Is there a way to get around  this?  We have looked into creating completely new categories, but we would have to transfer portions of LSL into the new half pay category for this to work.  Do you have any solutions for this?

        Hey RachelDodson,

I understand that you need to pay Long Service Leave at half pay. With that, you'll need to check how the payroll category was set up. Further checking is needed regarding your issue, and our support team can assist you with that. You can reach them on Live Chat via our virtual assistant, MOCA, or by submitting a support case via MyAccount.

        Best regards,

        Doreen
