Discrepancies in figures when accessing reports

Hi,

Why can I bring up a report in AccountRight on my desktop and the figures are different to the exact same report that I access in the web browser?

For example Net Profit on desktop $178560 and Net Profit on web browser is $245732. Both reports are set to include all transactions including year-end adjustments. GST owed for the period is $61761 so it's not the gst component causing the issue.

What am I not understanding?

Appreciate  your feedback.

  • Thanks Mike,

I started going through each item and figures were very different for a lot of accounts. I decided to switch accounting methods then switched back again on the web browser report and the figures changed to match desktop figures.

Maybe it  just needed a technical kick up the rear!!

    Thanks for your response.

    Hi LouD,

There are some differences in how report values are produced between browsers and desktop applications. For example, GST reports can show different values depending on the platform used. You can read more about this in this link. If you are inquiring about specific reports, it's best to mention the exact report you are trying to run.

If you have any further questions, you can reach out to support via the MyAccount window or live chat through MOCA.

    Regards,

    Genreve

      Thanks Genreve,

I'm looking at P&L which I would consider important.

Which platform would you suggest I use? It's difficult to provide accurate quarterly reports to management when the figures don't match.

Hi LouD , have you compared the reports line by line? For any lines that are different, compare the transactions. This should provide some answers (or further clues).

Great work! Of course the fix you applied shouldn't be necessary, but clearly was in this case.
