Open Access?

Hi,

We currently have a MYOB subscription and I’d like to develop a few tools to make our staff’s workflow easier. To do this, I’ll need access to the API.

I’ve read about Open Access, but I’m finding it difficult to locate detailed information. Could you please confirm if API access is available for free with our current subscription, or if an additional subscription is required?

Thank you for your help.

    Hey mikejenkin,

For detailed info on API access and Open Access, the best place to head is developer.myob.com. That’s where you’ll find everything you need, and their team can help with any specifics around access and requirements.

    Cheers,

    Doreen

    Hi Doreen,

Thanks for pointing me to developer.myob.com. I’ve been through the site but unfortunately couldn’t find the information I need. Could you please advise if there’s a specific section or resource I should be looking at?

    Appreciate your help!

I also have this issue. On developer.myob.com I can only find reference to the developer partner program but not for existing customer access. How can we access the open API as an existing customer with Accountright Premier?

Here's the update. I was told by MYOB i cannot get open access without paying $110 per month.

To access your own customer file data there is a charge of $110 per month?! That is comical. Especially when the existing Marketplace reporting solutions aren't able to provide the desired level of reporting.

I have other entities using Xero so time I move this entity onto Xero too it appears!

  • Hi Mike,

If you need read access to your data, you could try OdataLink. I'm the lead dev there (so biased :-)
    https://odatalink.com/

    https://www.myob.com/au/apps/odatalink

It's aimed at non-developers. It's a tool we built that directly integrates with excel/powerbi/fabric by way of odata and "fills the gap" where people need access to their MYOB data to analyse things.

We plan on also adding write-back access so you can push data straight through to MYOB. And the end goal with this is for our stuff to be used through Microsoft Power Apps/Power Automate.

To be fully unbiased, we are not the only ones in this space so you can check out the app marketplace for others.

    Regards

    Nic
