Desktop to business lite online

Hi Everyone, I’d be using the desktop version of myob for the last 14 years and paying my liabilities for payroll taxes and through the pay liabilities section. How can these payments now be accounted for?  Eg monthly wages tax and super payments in business lite as there is no pay liabilities section. I just want to make sure that I count for these properly. Thank you

  • Hi Pkara,

Thanks for the follow up. I'm happy to clarify. If you’re paying super somewhere else, just record it with the Spend money option. If you’re using MYOB Business for super payments, you can use Pay Super, same as on desktop.

You can move STP from Payroller to MYOB whenever suits, start of a quarter or financial year is tidy, but mid-year’s totally fine. Just make sure your YTDs are spot on and you’ve got the BMS ID handy. If needed, send an STP update from MYOB to sync your YTDs. Here's a link for a detailed steps for transferring STP reporting to MYOB.

    Cheers,

    Princess

    Hi Pkara,

Thank you for being a loyal MYOB user for the past 14 years! Since MYOB Business Lite doesn’t include the Pay Liabilities window that was in AccountRight desktop. You can record payments using Spend Money for ATO/IAS and (ideally) the Pay Super service for super contributions. More information can be found here:  Recording ATO payments and credits.

    I hope this helps!

    Regards,
    Earl

    Hi Earl,

Thank you for answering my question. Just to clarify i can put super payments under this Spend Money for ATO/IAS catergory also? Also, i have used payroller in the past, im assuming to bring it across to myob i just follow the stp payroll set up sections and it will deactivate payroller reporting to the ATO and initiate the myob. Is there a better time of the year to do this or can i do it anytime for reporting purposes? Thanks again.
