    Hi treegirl

There is no change required - a fixed term employee and a permanent employee have the same leave accruals. Just make a note that they have changed to permanent from a "date"

    Hi treegirl,

Switching an employee from fixed term to permanent usually depends on your company’s internal processes, so it’s best to check in with your financial accountant first. If you end up needing to set up a fresh employee card for the permanent role, make sure you don’t leave those balances behind, pop the old balances in as the opening amounts on the new card so everything stays neat and tidy.

    Cheers,

    Princess

As stated, I am not changing from casual to permanent; I am changing the employee from fixed term to permanent

    Hi treegirl,

To switch a casual to full or part-time, you'll need to create a new employee record for them. This is coz of how the Holidays Act calculates annual leave, it's based on whichever is higher between their Average Weekly Earnings (from the last 52 weeks) or their Ordinary Weekly Pay. Payroll will still use the original record for that, so creating a new one is necessary. For more details, you can check out the info on the Employment New Zealand website.

    Cheers,

    Shella
