Employee changing from casual to permanent part-time

Hi.  We have an employee changing from casual to permanent part-time and I am confused on how to do this.  I have searched and found 2 different suggestions - 1 is to create a new employee card and the other is to change their current card.  If I change the current card, where do we record the date the employee changed from casual to part-time, and if I have to change the start date to the date they started as part-time, where can we see what date the employee actually started?  As I have not started this process yet as I am stumped at the starting line, I am sure there will be more questions.  Is there a step by step for doing this that is not 2 years old?  Thank you in advance for any help.

  • Hi Bernedeen8moore,

You don’t have to create a whole new card, just update their current one to part-time, pop the change date into their employment details, and jot a note about when they started as casual. You can check this handy article about changing an employee status for the steps. That way, you keep all their history tidy. If you get stuck. give our team a buzz via our virtual assistant MOCA or by submitting a support ticket through MyAccount to help you sort it out.

    Cheers,

    Shella

    Thank you Shella.

The MYOB step by step do not specify to change the start date, but I have changed it as you suggested (and made a note of actual start date as casual) as I believe it would mess up the annual leave and sick leave calculations if I left the original start date.

    Thank you! 😊
