I have just processed the payroll for week ending Sunday 30th June 2024 and find that it has rolled over to the new financial year. How can I have it included in in the current financial year where ...
Payroll reporting is based on the payment date. If your payment date is after the 30th of June then it will fall into the 2025 payroll year reporting.
I don't suggest that you change your usual day of payroll payment unless you have been advised to do so by your accountant, as this may increase your annual payroll from 52 weeks to 53 weeks and the tax may become incorrect.
The end of the pay period was Sunday 30th June 2024 so I paid these wages on Thursday 27th June to ensure that it came into the current financial year. It was when I printed out the pay slips that I noticed that the year had rolled over and these wages were the only ones on the payslips.
Hi jclpo,
I’m just checking in to see if you still need help with your pay run showing in the current payroll year. Financial year rollover doesn't happen automatically unless the payment date of a processed payment is July 1. So, even though the end of the pay period was Sunday, June 30, 2024, if the payment date is July 1, that will roll over the payroll year to 2024/25.
Feel free to get in touch if you need more help.
Cheers,
Princess
