EDI integration

Hello

We use MYOB Account Right and currently manually enter all purchase orders etc that our supermarket customers send us. Everything is maintained through manual data entry.

Looking at getting a 3rd party EDI integration, however before starting need to understand if this is possible with Account Right. ie purchase orders sent electronically into the system, acknowledged and finalised.  Does the functionality exist. Having trouble getting answers through myob help desk and they don't seem to know what EDI is. A contact would be helpful.

Hi BernieO2022, the Foodstuffs full EDI process has several steps:

    - download purchase orders from the Foodstuffs Exchange (and import/post as sales orders)

    - Send Receive messages

    - Acknowledge orders

    - Send ASN (notice of shipment)

    - Send invoices to the Exchange

MYOB have commenced an e-invoicing project, which addresses only the last step. Foodstuffs may be in discussion with them.

For version 19, I developed an external application capable of handling the previous steps, but only really used for the download and import of purchase orders as sales orders. This app would have to be completely re-written now to work with the new AccountRight.

The communication to/from AccountRIght has changed (from ODBC to API), but it is certainly possible for a 3rd party to develop an app with these functions. (Other than a file import function and the e-invoicing project, the core AccountRight program has no relevant functionality).
