Personally I think your first suggestion is the most practical. If you have a Premier subscription, you can specify multiple locations. However once you activate this, then for EVERY transaction you need to specify which location you are using - this can be a pain as it is an extra step for EVERY item purchased or sold. Also Premier lacks an Item Movement report, so there is no visible history to track item movements between locations.

Hi SherylMack , my suggestion for stock movements is to create a supplier called Stock Transfers, and record purchases with 2 lines, one to receive (+) and another to send (-), the net amount being zero.
If you want to account for delays in transit, receive to a Transit location. More effort but reflects reality.
