Jury service

Hi,

We have someone on Jury service and i am looking for information on how this should be processed in payroll.

I beleive we need to show a line of what they are being paid directly and deduct that from their pay?

 

Do you have any guidance on that ?

    Hi Karadoc

     

    Thanks for reaching out.

     

    The above scenario can be handled in 2 ways depending on payroll requirements. 

    You might Continue paying the employee their full pay while they are on jury duty. Then when the employee receives payment from the courts you can deduct the value from the employee's pay.

    Alternatively, you can set up an individual wage category for the employee while they are on jury duty to pay their regular pay minus the court allowance.
