Email: Longer character domains

We have moved our corporate email address to a new gTLD (@example.education). Alas, when entering an email address into the Pay Slip Email field the autodiscover won't allow this address to be accepted. Instead it tries to autodetect that a trailing "." is added to the @example.education.

As these new gLTD's have been around (and growing) since 2013 shouldn't it be expected that the normal .com, .org, and .net are not the only extensions accepted?

Can this be modified to accept other ICANN gTLD's?

Kind regards.

Stuart
