BPay - integrate business’s own credentials

Hi,

i have raised this before, and didn’t get your response I was hoping for, so here goes again …

The default BPay credentials through MYOB are excessively high, and although there’s an option to disable it or to add a surcharge, this is a bit limited. In addition, the business name appears as “MYOB payment services” should our customer/client decide to pay that way.

If a business arranges for their own Bpay agreement, it can work out to be much cheaper and more personalised, but we are currently unable to enter our credentials.

I, and I’m sure many others, would like to see the option of our own credentials being added to invoices be implemented.

Would anyone else care to share their thoughts or comments?

    Hey PetersPhotos69

At this stage, this isn't on the Solo roadmap, so we don't have any plans to introduce it in the foreseeable future.

Ultimately, this would be a decision made by MYOB, as it would require changes beyond just Solo. Customer feedback does play an important role in influencing future development, so if we see strong demand from a larger number of customers, it may be considered. However, at this stage, it isn't planned for Solo's future.

Hi, thanks for your response, but is there any chance of it being allowed?

  • Thanks for raising this again and for unpacking the “why” behind it PetersPhotos69 . Wanting lower fees and having your own business name appear on your customer’s side both make perfect sense.

At the moment, BPAY in Solo runs through MYOB’s own BPAY arrangement, which is why customers see “MYOB Payment Services” as the biller name and why there isn’t currently a way to plug your own BPAY biller code or credentials into Solo invoices.

And because it all runs under MYOB’s payments setup, we also take care of the compliance, settlement and risk side of things behind the scenes.

That said, I can see how there’d be real value in giving businesses more control here, especially for Solmates wanting to use their own BPAY setup and branding. I’ve logged this as a product request with the payments team, and community feedback + votes will absolutely help shape how we think about future improvements in this space.

Really appreciate you taking the time to explain the use case so clearly. 📸
