It would be amazing to have a tool that lets me quickly transfer invoices, contacts, and expenses from my old accounting system or excel when I start using Solo. This would make onboarding so much smoother and really encourage businesses like mine to switch over.

Hi Wazza1959 - thanks for your question!
At the moment, it isn’t possible to transfer records from an MYOB company account into a new MYOB Solo account.I can definitely see why that would be handy when your business structure is changing, but it’s not something we’re currently looking to build in the near future. Solo has been designed primarily for sole traders starting fresh in Solo, so moving historical records from a company file into Solo is a bit outside the path it’s built for today.
For record-keeping, your best bet would be to export and save the reports you need from your existing MYOB account before moving across. That way, you’ve still got your historical records tucked away safely, without needing to physically print out a small forest’s worth of paperwork.
If you’re unsure which reports you’ll need to keep, it’s worth checking with your accountant or bookkeeper so they can guide you based on your change from Pty Ltd to partnership. - Wazza195915 days agoMember
Hi, We are going from being a PTY LTD to a Partnership. We want transfer our Company records from our MYOB Company Account to a new MYOB Solo Account.
Is MYOB looking at making this possible in the near future?

I find this bonkers, that I cant even import a bank statement so I can do my monthly reconcile (apparently only accountants can do this, and I don't have 1). ING bank isn't linked to MYOB yet either. Never mind you can't import your old MYOB stuff directly into SOLO.
Surely they would have done this by now, I only need basic accounting and using a app is great idea, as I am a sole trader, being able to get paid in 1 click like Square would be fabulous also being able to scan a receipt in too, but I still want to be able to import my bank statements so I can reconcile each month, plus add old stuff in incase I need to go back later on after Ive closed the existing MYOB, I thought that would be a given for accounting.
It was bad enough trying to set up my existing MYOB account in the beginning.

Hey Rob_Sigg,
Thanks for the honest feedback, I can see why not being able to upload client and supplier details could be frustrating and add extra admin. While Solo doesn’t currently have recurring invoices, you can copy an existing invoice to save time. Just open the invoice, tap More, then choose Copy. From there, you can update any details before saving or sending it.
I’ve shared your feedback about client and supplier import/upload with the team, as I can see how much time that would save.
Thanks,

The package is absolutely useless if I can't upload client and supplier details. Recurring invoices would also save hours.
I need this
I agree this would make it easy to transfer from another accounting package.

I thought this would be a given… does make it appear unusable unless you’ve got time to set things up from scratch

To switch over need the ability to set FY starting balances. Currently can't do it, so reports will be wrong.
