Hi Sigrid,
This is part is spot on: And your ideal scenario is a spot where you or your daughter can simply snap a photo or upload a receipt, without having to start the expense creation process; then, when ready, you can simply add it to an existing expense in one click? - Although I will just add it to the bank feed transaction.
The process we use, i think I explained it a bit messy, I'll try again below.
Me:
- I start at the Action Hub - Transactions to review (Bank Feed)
- Select a transaction
- Choose Categorise/Match
Daughter
- Uploads photo at later stage (I will change this process)
- Adds expense as per receipt
- Categorsies
- Saves Transaction
This is where the duplication is, I know it's our crossover, which we can change our process.
My process from here;
- Go into expense that has the receipt
- Take a screenshot of receipt - as I cannot download it
- Go to the Bank Rec transaction
- Add receipt
- Delete daughters original expense record
- Back to action Hub to delete 'unrecorded expenses' (as the deleted ones now appear here.
Thanks Cathie
Ahh yes, I can definitely see why things have felt fiddly, since you are essentially both creating full expense records each time.
Thanks for sharing your process in such great detail CatSim70. From what you have described, I think the simplest way of working is option 1 from my previous response, which will take you from roughly 13 steps to only 6 steps:
You (keep doing what you're doing):
- Start at the Action Hub - Transactions to review (Bank Feed)
- Select a transaction
- Choose Categorise/Match
Your daughter:
- Tap Money out
- Find the correct expense record and open it
- Tap Add receipt.
Having a receipt widget or a "holding bucket" is still a great idea, and would be super useful when you're on the go and just want to snap quickly and then tackle it properly later on, but I have a feeling this new way of working will make a world of difference!😄
Keep us posted on how you and your daughter go with this new process, and keep the feedback and great ideas coming! 🙌

Thanks Sigrid, I will communicate with her and this should definitely streamline our process.
The holding bucket would still be very useful in our case particularly, as she doesn't always load them live and she may enter a whole heap 2 weeks later. So if there was a holding bucket i could go back through it and attach to the already reconciled expense. I will keep an eye out. Thanks again for your help.
