Applying Surcharge

So once again I feel that MYOB over complicates things and then doesnt believe it is ever at fault.

Recently I recieved my monthly bill which was a lot higher than normal. Why? Because apparently Bpay isn't included in the Apply Surcharge field.

Im not sure if my screen shot will show but it clearly aligns Bpay with all other online payments and then the box below says that you can apply a surcharge.

When questioning MYOB I got the good old "it states it in the terms and conditions" I asked if it looked misleeding and they didnt have an answer.

I asked to have Bpay removed from a service that is offered but apparently they can't do that either.

In fact it appears that MYOB can't do a lot of things. This new "Downgrade" that they have applied to everyone I really cant see why they did it.

Even my accountant has now moved away from MYOB

@Noremac01 +1 they take a while.

And without a public road map, you will never know.

You mentioned, "I don't even understand why it needs to be a % based fee on the work I have done."

This is because they use Stripe for card and wallet payments.

Stripe charges a base of 1.75% + A$0.30 on all transactions + wallets

We have been using Stripe for years with our subscription clients.

You can confirm the use of Stripe in the source code of an invoice. Just right-click > and inspect in your browser on a Google Pay button on a test invoice to see the Stripe iframe link. (Screenshot if you're interested > MYOB Google Pay Button )

Also, like you, we do not want bpay as we cannot charge fees.

I created a post here to customise the invoice footer to remove bpay >

Feel free to upvoat and comment.

It may help with speeding things along lol Smiley Wink

RE the BPAY removal, I've added a note to my invoices and emails warning my clients that if they use BPAY their money may disappear without a trace.  LOL
It's successfully stopped clients from using it but it looks bad.

I need instant payments not in 2 or 3 days time, so BPAY is not an option for me.
