I notice they were created back in 2013 - Over 10 years ago ! I am so indebted to you and hope I can make them work. Thank you again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WOULD GREATLY BENEFIT BY SEEING AN ACTUAL EXAMPLE THAT TRIGGERS THE API TO WORK I have asked the API support team for a simple example on how to use the API. For example, a simple extract of ITEM data would be helpful. They tell me that under no circumstances whatsoever will they give me an example. Do I need a PHP script, an HTML Script or what ? If I can get JUST ONE actual example (into which I can insert my own cudtomer and developer credientials) I am sure I can do the rest. Can anyone help please ? This is the current document ation on working with ITEMS - It means nothing to me Item Return, update, create and delete inventory items. Date Released:Dec 2013Date Updated:Sep 2022 URL Supports /{cf_uri}/Inventory/Item GET|PUT|POST|DELETE Re: Accountright Import/Export Bug I have performed further checking into the HEX 0A character appearing by itself in the line. I have found that by deliberately pressing the Enter Key in the middle of the ITEM Description, this has no effect on the description when it is Exported. ie, Pressing the Enter Key does not introduce a HEX 0A to the data. This therefore confirms my original belief that there is actually an error when the Export Utility is used. As I said, I have had to write special software to "Clean" the data exported from the Export Utility, and this seems to work. I am just concerned that normal MYOB users who do not have programming experience will find that the Export Data utility will cause them errors if they attempt to used the exported data in Excel or perhaps a database like Access. Thank you for everyone's interest. Re: Accountright Import/Export Bug The problem with HEX 0A in the data is that the data cannot be easily imported into a database as the continuation of the description is now at the beginning of the next text line (Which normally, in the case of ItemSales data, is the Company Name Field) The importing of such raw data therefore becomes useless unless it is "cleaned up" So that's what I have done - Read the export line by line and remove the lonely HEX 0A characters You may well be correct that the operator may have pressed an enter while keying the description but I do not have HEX 0D0A other than at the end of the line, which I expected SOLUTION The trick is to read the file - Scan the file looking for HEX 0A0D together - replace the HEX 0A0D with HEX FFFF - Rescan the file looking for HEX 0A - Replace with a space - Rescan the file looking forHEX FFFF -replace the HEXFFFF with HEX 0A0D Works for me - perfectly A little challenge but all good Thank you so much for your interest ! Inserting a New Item Invoice into Accountright If I import a new Invoice Into Accountright using the manual Import/Export Function , the system works fine until it finds an Item in an invoice which does not have sufficient Stock on Hand to fulfil the Invoice. In this situation it simply rejects the WHOLE Invoice while processing correctly all the Invoices which have sufficient Stock to be fulfilled. My question is "What happens with the API when transferring a new Invoice to Accountright and the system finds there is not enough stock to fulfil an item in the invoice ?" Manual entry of an Invoice in Accountright prompts "Buy ?" or "Make ?" when stock is too low. Re: Error on data import via a API I am a new member of MYOB Developers and was hoping that the use of the API would be straight forward. I have tried to get examples for Importing and Exporting data from Accountright, but have somehow missed the point of how the API works. As I have a customer who needs the integration immediately, I have decided to get my integration working, simply by using the Import/Export Facility in Accountright. Guess what - I have it working, albeit a little manual on the part of the user - but I am not drowning in API. The API support team tell me they CANNOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES give me a working example for Import or Export. So now I need to work on decifering the ins and outs of the API and make it do what I want. (By myself and perhaps with a little help on this board). In the mean time - my customer is WORKING !!! And there is a bug in the Export Facility from Accountright which I have reported over thephone and also on this Community Board. I will not hold my breath waiting for a fix any time soon as I think the MYOB support people are a little busy. SO ...If you need a solution immediately - go through the Import/Export path - I am happy to show you the way and also how to fix the problem that lies within the Export facility. (At least your customer will be working while you try to solve the current issues you are experiencing) Accountright Import/Export Bug I am exporting 3 Files from Accountright live to .TXT Files on my local machine. Customers (all fields - Tab Delimited) - No Problems Items (all fields - Tab Delimited) - Problem with spurious Hex 0A characters inserted into a line exported - unpredictable Items involved but the Hex 0A seems to be be more frequent where there is a long Description for the Item. ItemSalesData(all fields - Tab Delimited) - Problem with spurious Hex 0A characters inserted into a line exported - unpredictable ItemSalesData lines involved but the Hex 0A seems to be be more frequent where there is a long Description for the Item. Problem exists whether the export is Comma Delimitted or Tab Delimited I have been able to create a work around to the problem, but I am sure MYOB needs to know about bugs in their system as most users who use the Import/Export options are not necessarily computer programmers Re: does anyone know how to get your id number? I finally worked it out, thanks Log In to: MY.MYOB.COM.AU - See Client ID's at top right in drop down box Thank you for your support George Re: does anyone know how to get your id number? Thanks Leneth I guess what everyone knows (except me) is ... What did you do to bring up that screen ? It must be something like https://.................................................................................... This is the part I am having trouble with - to everyone else in the world it is so, so, so obvious Sorry but I have just opened the front door and you are explaining stuff that is in the cellar without telling me it is in the cellar Apologies - but everyone at MYOB is communicating with me on the basis that I already know everything Thanks George
