Base Hourly Calculation Rate Changed by MYOB System during payroll
Background: Apprentice 3rd yr anniversary mid pay cycle. Pay cycle w/ending 20/08/25, Paid as follows: Thur & Fri at Old 2nd yr rate, Mon, Tues & Wed. paid at 3rd yr rate (which is now Base hourly for this employee on his file). Apprentice Base hourly rate set up on employee file is $27.39 (3rd yr rate) in prep for this pay cycle. On Pay item "Old Pay Rate" is the 2nd yr rate $23.18 - employee added to this pay item in prep for this pay cyle. When entering hours in payroll for this employee: 16 hours was put to item "Old Pay Rate" at $23.18 24 hour put to "Base Hourly". However for some reason the MYOB system increased the pay rate to $30.20 per hour, changing it from $27.39 per hour. This has also happened previously when hours for pay item "Annual Leave Taken - Loading" was entered, the MYOB sytem automatically changed the "Base Hourly Rate". Why? Please fix this bug.127Views0likes2CommentsMyob Payroll

My client has done all pay runs correctly, with all pay items correctly assigned a category. However when I compare the gross amount from the payroll registry and the EOFY finalisation report, the gross amount is different. I have helped them to run an update event, however the figures on the EOFY finalisation tab are still not changed. All STP report status are accepted. Please advise what else can we do now.156Views0likes3CommentsEmployee start mid month
An employee is paid on a monthly basis, if he starts during the month, which of the following options are the correct way to pro-rata the salary: If employee started 13/05/2024, should he get paid 15working days x 7.6hrs = 114hrs, or 15 days/23 working days in month x 164.667hrs (total working hours monthly) = 107.39 hrs67Views0likes1CommentHow do I pay super for a contractor?
To pay super from MYOB you need to process the super payments through payroll. This means to pay super for a contractor you'll need to set up the contractor as an employee to pay their super. Just manually add them as an employee and enter their super details. If you pay the contractor via invoices they send you, you will also need to set the contractor up as a supplier so you can pay their bills like any other. Then when you process your payroll to pay super for the contractor, only enter the super amount into their pay (and no other amounts). You can then declare the pay to the ATO as part of your STP reporting.1.5KViews2likes0CommentsGet Active in our community !
