I used to work for a large electricity provider, they had outages all the time normally for stuff that was beyond their control e.g. planes flying into power lines, natural disasters etc. No matter what customers were told, they would complain and demand "compensation". The usual complaint went along the lines of "I run a business and it's being disrupted and I demand compensation." This is what business interruption insurance is for.
The fact is that no amount of jumping up and down or screaming "do you know who I am" would make the linesman get out to the site and fix the problem any faster.
The outage lasted about 40 minutes. I went and found something else to do after I read in the community forum that it was being fixed and would be up as soon as it could be.
Thanks MYOB for getting it fixed.
