Thanks gavin12345 - good points made. Mike_MYOB - care to comment whether MYOB will eventually remove access to SE version. I realise it will die eventually because of technology updates from the likes of microsoft, virus scan etc - but what it is expected life of the SE version if they stay on 2026.5 - I had already thought to leave clients on 2026.4 or 2026.3 for the time being.
Hey jenniek
We have no intention of making any changes in the near future, SE version will continue to work as long as compatible with Microsoft.

Hi Amanda, Not sure if going for the SE version is a solution at all. What do you install on the Workstation PC to access the network server version? If you install, say 2026.4 then that will try to update itself to 2026.5 and beyond. Then the Workstaton/PC will not be compatible with the Server version. So we are going around in circles, aren't we, without a true offline solution.
MYOB could consider a special version, say 2026.4.9, for offline files which do not update software, but keep only the Active Subscription check. Can you pass this on to Management and request. That way those who have active subscription (or perpetual licenses) can contine their offline use.- TT115 days agoMember

As much as I am unhappy with how MYOB is handling this the Accountright SE solution does work well if you want to keep your off-line files frozen at a particular version whilst still using Accountright to handle on-line files and let them update as required.
There are other comments that tell you how to stop Accountright SE updating and it is a simple and effective process but, as Amanda said, it will be OK as long as you don't run into issues with future Window's updates.
It is all a bit messy and I understand where MYOB wants to go but I do think they have underestimated the large number of people who have historical files sitting off-line under old arrangements.
The short notice and timing just shy of the end of the financial year is also a major distraction, when lest needed.
