Thanks Mike - like other perpetual license holders I am not happy re the change, but as a financial systems IT geek I understand the drivers.
I have downloaded/installed MYOB server edition 2026.3 and opened my PC edition 2026.3 files successfully.
Just for clarification;
- We can keep entering transactions into the server addition (it is not just archival/read only ?)
- The Server edition will stop updating at 2026.5 (or whatever version is latest as of 17th June 2026).
- The server edition does not need to confirm data files (or is confirmation still required, and if so will this be supported.)
- The server edition version will no longer be updated so it is ultimately a tactical solution as technology changes will stop it at some point (unless we keep an old system running just for this).
Of the above, it is #1 that is important to me. otherwise I need to consider alternatives such as FGHtables.
Nga mihi

Hey Alan redmx
Thanks for the comments and questions. Glad to hear that you were able to install and open Server edition.
Questions and answers are below for you - you're spot on with these, thanks!
- We can keep entering transactions into the server addition (it is not just archival/read only ?)
- Yes in server edition you can use the files, not just view them
- The Server edition will stop updating at 2026.5 (or whatever version is latest as of 17th June 2026).
- Correct, 2026.5 is the version releasing on June 17th and will be the last update for Server Edition
- The server edition does not need to confirm data files (or is confirmation still required, and if so will this be supported.)
- Server edition does/will still do a confirmation, but this remains supported and will not affect access to files in server edition.
- The server edition version will no longer be updated so it is ultimately a tactical solution as technology changes will stop it at some point (unless we keep an old system running just for this).
- This is a correct summary. Server edition is an option that will allow customers the ability to access and use files offline, but due to the lack of ongoing updates, it is ultimately not a long term solution (we just cant predict how long that might be).
