The good news is that this is incorrect.
Although after inactivity we have used the language that people need to 'sign in' it is not same login flow experience as when you open and sign in to the software.
If and when your screen greys out due to inactivity, you have the option to "sign in as current user joeblog@business.com". After you click this, you only need to enter your password.
I agree that the multiple 2FA methods is not a new feature for the industry, but it does provide greater autonomy to customers for managing their access. Before the secondary method was available, any time a customer got a new phone or needed assistance with 2FA, the only solution available to them was to contact our support team.
Now access can be gained using a secondary method and managing/setting up these methods can be self-serviced through MyAccount.
Mike your perseverance is admirable....but while you are still trying to spin gold from this 💩 it only annoys us more. Best if you could just be honest. You would win more respect with words like the following.
Yes, we admit we could have consulted our user base more effectively on this. We made the change we thought we had to make and yes, on reflection, change management with our user community is not our strong point. We are unlikely to revisit this because we actually don't care that much that we've annoyed you all and ultimately don't think many of you will leave because it's not an easy process and this is not the first time we've screwed you over and you are still here...so...hopefully we'll manage it better next time....but I wouldn't hold your breath.
To be honest mate, that paragraph above would earn MYOB far more respect from this user community. Constantly trying to tell us what you have done is good when we all know it isn't just just angers us more and has probably tripled the length of this thread to be honest.
MYOB needs some lessons in stakeholder management.

Hi Jo15 , MYOB doesnt have a 'TradeOnly/Retail' software. You have mentioned this a few times and I want to clarify that for others reading the thread.
We used to have a software called RetailManager but this was sold to another company in June 2022.
From what I can see, you are using our AccountRight software but not utilising all the features because your company on requires it for trading.
Do you have a point of sales software that is connecting to AccountRight on your PCs or are your staff working directly in AccountRight?
