So, the new changes are unnecessary and have a considerable negative impact on my company's work flow and I imagine I won't be the only one. I have staff that need specific reports, but because myob doesn't have the functionality of permitting specific reports only, we permit staff in sales to have sales reporting, while only showing them how to generate the specific report they need. This obviously gives them access to other sales reporting, but for the most part it's all just options they don't have anything to do with. But now their sales command centre shows, front and centre, overdue invoices and aged receivables, only one click away. Who thought it would be a good idea to have the first box on both the sales and purchasing command centres showing how much money is owed either way, when that's an accounting function and not for the sales or purchasing staff?!
It seems you've listened to the users who are "only log in to do one or two things" but don't give a rats about everyone else. The changes you've made do not support clients with multiple users. You need to develop an opt out function from this stupidity.
The visibility of the actions tiles is based on each users access rights. For example, if a user only has the standard Sales user permission role, they will not be able to see the tiles on the any other command centre screen. If that standard Sales user role has been customised further to not allow the user to View/Create customers then those tiles in the Sales Command Centre will also be disabled. For help setting up new users and customising their permissions go to our support page.

AmandaMYOB putting aside user permission roles, but for those that are given permission will now have to continuously lock or exit the program if they are not at their computer as the quick access tab means that the information can be displayed in an instance, concerning particularly for business that have open work stations or heavy customer/client/supplier walk ins (traffic).

AmandaMYOB Simple, right?
I have 16 users who each need different functions through different MYOB roles.
This is not how I expected to spend my day! I am still (3 hours so far) trying to work out each user & their access, locking them out from doing work whilst I fumble through.
Similar to Lulu3 MYOB does not allow individual customisation of reports, so we specifically train our team to only access the reports & functions THEY need. You have just undermined our entire process by giving them 'quick' access that YOU think they should have without a way for us to either disable it or customise it.
And in 2 weeks when it is reporting time, I can almost guarantee that there will be a report that they cannot access because I have had to adjust their settings. So I will waste more of my time to try to figure out a work around for them.
All to make it 'look pretty' and 'easy for those who login only use MYOB for one or two tasks'

It doesn't even look pretty though, my eyes are watering trying to focus on the new font and busy lay out :(

So reporting doesn't allow specificity. Because sales staff need 2 reports to monitor their and their clients performance, all I can do is click sales reporting access for them to get these 2 reports. Because of that, these new tiles now show aged receivables etc. on the sales command centre. I dont want them to have this one click access to seeing how much we're owed. Likewise, the purchasing officer needs 3 reports, so all I can do is click purchase reporting access, but now they have one click access to payables and what the business owes showing on their purchase command centre. So I've had to remove everyone's reporting access entirely and will have to establish a process where they'll have to ask management to raise the reports for them. Insane.
I also have myob on the front desk computer so we can raise invoices for a client who pops into the warehouse and now I can't do that because the sale commend centre shows how many invoices I have overdue.
The software is supposed to support how companies work. Instead we're all having to change our processes and computers to make myob functional. You cannot think this is right?!
My accountant keeps trying to get us to change to xero, but the pain of that change has been more than the pain of dealing with myob, so I haven't done it. But at this point, getting them to port us across and retraining staff actually seems easier. How could myob be so off-base with what you think we want?
