So Mike_MYOB... What is the sitiatuin regarding using a company file off-line?

I am trying to confirm if moving our company file off-line (No payroll, etc) whether it remains fully functional off-line (on my local Hard Drive) or is it read-only.
Its claimed when you cancel your subscription, the on-line version remains read-only for an additional 30 days.
But moderator Earl_HD said "Yes, it is possible to continue using the AccountRight Plus data file offline." but he did not clarify what he means by "using" or for how long, or what hoops MYOB may introduce to curb doing this in the future. (And I dare say they will be be trying to stop this asap if their recent behavior is any inidication.)
Mike_MYOB can you offer any clarification on this?

There are 3 scenarios/distinctions to consider here.
The answer will depend on whether the customer has a:- Perpetual (owned) or subscription licence
- Then for both of the above whether there is an active subscription or not
- And finally, if there is an active subscription, whether the file is online or offline
When a customer has an AccountRight subscription (whether owned or not), they can choose to have their file online or offline.
There are functionality differences between having the file online or offline though and you can find out all of the differences here
If a customer has an AccountRight perpetual licence, and they cancel their monthly subscription, then they will be able to continue accessing their file based on the functionality differences mentioned on the help article above.
If a customer has a subscription only licence, and they cancel their monthly subscription, this is when the file would move to a read only stateWould it be safe to assume that given we have been using AccountRight since 1998 (27 years) that we would have a perpetual licence?
The last off-line only version that we used was Version V19 and then like all users who continued to use it on-line or off-line were required to migrate to Version 2003, (or there abouts.
We continued to use it off-line till around 2018 when I decided that using the Android App for invoicing when out and about would be helpful (which turned out to be a disaster and we abandoned the App).
The company file has been stored in MYOB's cloud since.
Do you think we can use it off-line perpetually?
Hi MYOBcritic - yes I believe it is safe to assume that you have perpetual software and can use your file offline
