Hi Myob,
I have utilized MYOB accounting since the 1990's on and of for various business entities including my own.
I must say I am Appalled at MYOB's audacity to remove the 3rd party email link functionality for sending invoicing and label it as a required security function and when this is clearly not correct as stated by MYOB as the 3rd party share function is still operational without upgrading for sending payroll slips which clearly hold much more sensitive data.
Too now suggest a "paying subscriber" can now only print invoices and use a PDF converter to save the invoice in a format that will now need to be manually input into a 3rd party email system for distribution to My customers NOT MYOB's customer is appalling, especially when the 3rd party link is available for other system operations.
I hope this is addressed by the industry and Government legislation authorities ASAP as I did not subscribe to provide MYOB with endless additional fee's income.
PS I have never used MYOB email service nor any 3rd party payment collection or payment services and Nor will I.
Hi occtvs , I have edited your post to remove any inflammatory or misleading statements.
Thanks for sharing your feedback on the change. I want to address the comment you have made about payroll slips and sensitive data.
The restriction of using MYOB software to distribute invoices unless a business is verified is not due to sensitive data and therefore is very different to payroll.
This change is a step to reducing invoice fraud, by ensuring that only a verified business is able to utilise the MYOB platform to send invoices to consumers in Australia. It further ensures that MYOB remains a trusted brand, aiming to reduce invoice fraud while the combining of secure payments also provides our customers with better protection as well.

The verification does not achieve this however, because MYOB users can still use the MYOB platform to email fraudulent invoices just, they have to invoice them via their own email package. So, this doesn't achieve your mission, MYOB will still be facilitating fraud. What I can tell you however is that for us at least, MYOB is no longer a trusted brand because of this verification process, the automatic turning on of your financial system which is ethically questionable.

Hi Mike_MYOB, I'm currently downloading PDF and emailing manually. Yesterday I had a call from a person I didn't know who wanted to verify my bank details which was a little concerning. Turns out that one of my customers has been forwarding my invoices on to third parties rather that paying them himself. My customer is also in an industry where emails are commonly intercepted and bank details altered, and he should know better. My question is this; if I use your secure invoicing system and attach a pdf, does the same issue exists whereby a Customer can forward on the email to anyone, and can the 'third party' see all outstanding invoices of my original customer if they follow the 'view your outstanding invoices' link, and can the third party link to my software if they have a MYOB account? or is there some security measures in place to prevent emails from being forwarded.

Hi DR321 , no we are unable to influence the behaviours/actions of the recipient of the invoice.
At such time as they forward it on to someone else, that invoice is no longer sent by MYOB, it is sent/forwarded by the recipient.
Yes any recipient will be able to access the links and information contained within the invoice you send. No, there is no connection that a recipient of an invoice has to your software, regardless of whether they might also be an MYOB customer or not.
They only have the ability to view and pay the invoices you have sent them.- DR3214 months agoExperienced User
Hi Mike_MYOB, your Secure Invoicing upgrade (in MYOB's own explanation) contains End-to-end secure invoice distribution (which should include End-to-End Encryption) and a quick look on google explains it clearly;
End-to-End Encryption:
This technique acts like a sealed envelope, ensuring that only the sender and intended recipient can read the invoice data, preventing it from being intercepted or read by third parties.
Unfortunately ANYONE can read my invoice data, how is that any different from sending off a PDF and how can you call it 'Secure Invoicing'. MYOB takes no responsibility once the invoice is sent. Any recipient will be able to access the links and information contained within the invoice.
I would agree that your Secure payment system is in fact secure, unfortunately I don't want to use it when being paid and I certainly will never pay a supplier through it.
Please MYOB consider your loyal Customers who are still waiting and willing to ask for a solution, once we leave we wont be coming back, not even for 80% off your product.
