New Command Centre Layout. An Aesthetic Overhaul While Practical Needs Go Ignored
Hi MYOB Team,
After updating to the latest version of AccountRight, I was disappointed to see the new Command Centre interface. While I appreciate the effort to modernize the look, the new flat layout feels like change for the sake of change, not improvement.
Some observations:
- The simplified icons and flat visuals reduce the clarity and usability we relied on.
- The increased whitespace spreads things out unnecessarily without enhancing workflow.
- The visual flow of tasks has been diminished. The Command Centre used to guide users through common actions more intuitively.
More concerning, though, is the decision to prioritize this UI revamp while long-standing feature requests remain unresolved.
One example that’s frequently raised:
Why can we still not email customer payment receipts?
This has been requested repeatedly by real users for years. A simple quality-of-life improvement that would streamline communication with customers and reduce admin time. And yet, it remains missing, while effort has gone into polishing icons and layout styling.
As a loyal AccountRight user managing multiple entities, I’d much rather see functional updates that solve everyday business needs than purely aesthetic redesigns. The new look might suit a marketing brochure, but it’s not helping us get work done.
Please consider providing a toggle for Classic View and placing higher priority on genuine feature improvements.
