We’re incredibly proud to announce that Solo by MYOB has been named the winner of the Australian Financial Review’s Most Innovative Companies for 2025 in the banking, superannuation and financial services category.
Since we began last year, our team has been hard at work creating a solution that works for sole operators (or Solmates as we affectionately call them), a group that isn’t normally using admin apps to accomplish their goals.
In the year that’s followed, you’ve no doubt seen posts here on the Community Forum around a number of our moves to not only launch Solo, but to continue improving the app for you, including:
- Smart-matching - where we auto-match your bank transactions with invoices and expenses - no more manual work, just review and approve!
- Tap to Pay and Online Payments - allowing you to take payments wherever, in person or online
- PayID on the invoice - even more ways to get paid
- Leveled up expense capture - now including PDFs and a Bunnings PowerPass integration
- Shared access - give your accountant, bookkeeper, BAS or tax agent secure access to your Solo account

Those with a keen eye may have seen a comment from one of our Product Managers, Liz-Solo​, on this post. We’ve got some exciting changes coming to GST in Solo, putting you in control of whether you’d like GST added on top, or included in your item prices.
This is now being piloted by a limited number of Solmates, and we’ll have more information available soon as we work towards a wider release for all Solmates. If you want to get involved in the pilot - please let us know!
Of course, we’ll continue to work on the next-generation of Solo feature releases that’ll help you reduce admin time and get more work done! Keep an eye out for saved invoice notes, discounts, and even more ways to contact the Community team for quicker help when you need it!
We’ll have more details on all of these as we get closer to release, and the Community Forum is the best way to stay up to date with all things Solo! As we look toward the future, you’ll be a very important part of our journey for new features and enhancements.
