Setting up a new client

I use the Essentials Connected Ledger dashboard for most of my clients and recently also added AO.  I have a new client that I want to put onto Essentials through my practice but when I try to set them up on the dashbaord it dosn't let me.  I need to set the client up in AO first.  I tryed this but I still couldn't see them on my dashboard or set up the Essentails subscription.  Before I had AO this was a simple and quick set up from the dashboard.  I am sure it is still quite simple but am at a loss of what steps I need to take.
