Use Recurring opens new window - annoying

We use recurring documents quite a bit.  In AccountRight Premier 19, we had one window which I used, saved, moved on to the next transaction.

The cloud version pops up a new window which is really annoying as I am already working with tabs that I cannot resize (smaller), the extra window needs to be moved out of the way so I can see data in another window that has information I use.  This makes data entry slow.  Is there a fix ?

    Hi igiapitzakis

Could you please clarify what is the new window that pops up, and when does it come up exactly?

I just tried with Sales > Enter Sales > Use Recurring in AccountRight v2022.2 and AccountRight Premier v19.5 and they behaved the same way. They both bring up the recurring transaction list in a new window, where I could select one which returns me to the Enter Sales window, click on 'Record' they both bring up the spelling check window for you to rectify or ignore then records the transaction.

Please do let us know how you go.

  • Open bank reconciliation.

Open spend money to post a bank reconciliation recurring spend.

Choose a recurring doc from the list.

In desktop version, it uses the same spend money screen.

In live version, it opens a whole new spend money screen.

    Hi igiapitzakis

Thank you for the additional information.

In this specific workflow yes selecting the recurring transaction from the list will display the transaction in a new window instead of overwriting the existing one you are viewing. As far as I know currently there is no plans of changing this behavior.

Meanwhile, instead of clicking on an existing Spend Money transaction from the Reconcile Accounts window, then click on 'Use recurring' from within the transaction, it may be worth while to try opening Lists > Recurring Transactions, have the list open side by side with the Reconcile Accounts window, create recurring transactions from the list window directly, which only opens 1 transaction window and you can control where it defaults to.

Additionally, the current AccountRight platform (v20xx.x) offers Bank Feeds which saves data entry and makes bank reconciliation more convenient, it's a feature not available in v19. I would suggest checking it out as well if you haven't already.
