Business Lite on a desktop Mac

Hi

I've had my old Account Edge Basic data file migrated to Business Lite. I can access it on my iPhone but if I try to log in on a desktop Mac in either Safari or Chrome I get an error page. Any ideas?

Thanks

Michael

  • Hi MichaelFindlay

Thanks for your post and welcome to the Community Forum ! Are you able to provide a screenshot of the error message you get so I can take a look into this for you.

  • Here’s the screen I see when I try and login with either Safari or Chrome …

    Hi MichaelFindlay

Thank you for the screenshot. If you're using a Mac with the an operating system 10.11.x  or earlier this issue is caused by a certificate no longer being valid. You will need to update the Mac operating system to 10.12.x in order to log in and use your MYOB Business file. If you're not sure about updating the OS yourself we do recommend speaking to an IT professional.

*If you are also using AccountEdge do not update to Catalina (10.15) as it will affect your AccountEdge software

  • Thanks for the feedback. I thought it might have been a system issue.

It's annoying though I'm having to move from AccountEdge because MYOB isn't supporting it.

Are there any MYOB versions that work on 10.10

    Michael

    Hi MichaelFindlay

The cause of that error is due to users on an OS 10.11 or earlier operating system, this system uses the old DST root certificate, which is no longer valid. When accessing secure sites this is checked by the site and it is no longer trusted as its out of date.

MYOB Business is the current software that can be run on a Mac.
