Autogenerate Recurring Invoices

Hi Folks

I thought this was a feature - or was coming.

Autogenerated recurring invoices that can be emailed automatically for standard recurring monthly charges.

It seems this is not yet a feature but is long overdue as a feature.

Sure you get a reminder of a recurring due invoice - it can be created like any recurring item but automatically emailed.

Is this correct.

Seems like a good API app to do this - create new invoice from recurring - email to client.

Thank you for your post. It sounds like you might be thinking of a recently introduced feature - Direct Debit Requests.

You can choose the direct debit amount and the payment schedule. The direct debit request is then emailed to your customer who will enter their banking details and authorise the request.

Click here for instructions on how to set it up: MYOB Direct Debit.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Hi SamaraM

Thanks for your reply but no - not that.

Recurring regular monthly invoices - eg - monthly internet charge for a client - goes on every month on a set date monthly - same amount same - auto generated in MYOB and sent?

I was wondering whether this was a feature I missed - or saw was to be introduced or intended to be introduced - and if not - really would be a great feature!!

    Hi The_Doc

For invoices that you record regularly you can set them up as recurring transactions.

You can specify how often you want the transaction to be recorded, and for how long you want to schedule it.

This can be set up an alert to remind you to record it or set it to record automatically.

This will not email the invoice, but you could also set up invoice reminders. This automatically sends invoices to all or specific customers and you can choose how often and how close to a due date it will send it out.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Hi SamaraM

Thanks for your reply - still not there yet - yes recurring will recreate invoices - understood.

You then say - these WILL NOT be sent out automatically - OK - understood.

Then you say - setup INVOICE REMINDERS - you say

"This automatically sends invoices to all or specific customers and you can choose how often and how close to a due date it will send it out." - but that is not how I read it - shouldn't that read 'INVOICE REMINDERS'.

We do not have debtor problems - do not. We do not use this feature and 98% of our debtors are < 14 days.

What I would like was that MYOB auto generates a regular invoice that is the same monthly - AND SENDS IT ON A CERTAIN DATE OF THE MONTH.

I don't think this is possible in the current MYOB setup.

    Hi The_Doc

Apologies, for the confusion on my previous response. With what it sounds like you are asking, you would like to have 1) invoice created automatically on a monthly basis 2) have a day of the month it is sent out.

So you can either have the system remind you to create it, or have it record those transactions automatically.

But this would just create the transaction. You would then need to set an invoice reminder so customers would get an invoice at the specific date of month you prefer.
So the recurring invoice creates it, then the invoice reminder you set as a specific date emails it.

Here is more information on both of those features:

    Recurring Transactions

    Invoice Reminders

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
