If you click on the blue arrow to enter the Tax field, (you'll get an arrow about changing the tax affecting BAS, click OK), in the 'Tax' column on the far right, see if you can edit out the last decimal place. I was able to edit this tax figure manually, changing it from the original $2,108.21 calculated to $2,108.55, so this may be as simple as deleting that .XX3 from the tax calculation which would in turn remove it from the balance owed. I was unable to test this in my own software though, as I couldn't trick it into adding that third decimal place. 

Please give this a go and let me know if it works.

Thank you for responding, sadly no, this is not a fix, I tried this before without success. The transaction is very old May 2018 and year end processes etc of course been completed. I can't undertstand how MYOB would allow this in the first place

Thanks for letting me know, just to confirm the process of what has happened: this transaction is from May 2018 from another source, it was for $23,190.34 and it was paid for $23,190.34. When you imported this transaction into AccountRight, the GST was calculated as $2,108.213 instead of $2,108.21, resulting in .003 out of balance on this invoice? Additionally, could you let me know what source you imported the transaction from and if there is any chance it was manually edited in error during the import process? As I am not finding any other examples of this happening I will need to investigate further but just want to confirm I understand the timeline of what has happened.

This all happened before I joined the company, I'm assuming they were importing data from Quickbooks. I was thinking about creating some other type of file to import into MYOB to fix up these errors, seeing as though MYOB accepts 3 decimal places when importing data. (the reason I want them fixed is so that the customers statement are correct and not show old invoices as outstaning invoices, they aren't the customer has paid in full apart from this $0.003 cent error)

My other train of thought is perhaps an MYOB technical expert could allow us to temporarilly allow 3 decimal places, once fixed revert back to 2 decimal places

Thanks for confirming. I've spoken with another team and they'd like to get your file sent in to have it looked at. This has happened occasionally in the past and results from an issue with the import, and it is something that has generally been able to be reconciled with the team working on the file in the backend. Please send me a private message with the following information:

• Serial number of the file
• Indicate which company file it is if you have more than one on that account
• Your name and best contact number to use
• Invoice number of the invoice this is happening on

I have attached a file which shows the offending invoice numbers together with the customer statements, and I have highlighted key fields

1) fix entries so that only 2 decimal places are shown

2) make sure all payments that relate to the invoices that contain 3 decimal place error are applied/allocated (cleared on statement)

Please if you are uncertain or unclear about anything please ring it is no problem

Just letting you know we removed the serial number and phone number from your post, but I did get that information prior to doing so. I did get another email from MYOB Data Services asking for a backup file. Should I do this? and also does that mean we cannot use MYOB while the team is looking into it to repair?

We are quite active in MYOB so up to 2 days without would be tough

From here on out, the datafile repair team will be communicating with you to access your file and perform the necessary fixes within it to reconcile the balances. They will need to access a copy of the file in question directly in order to work on things. You would be able to continue working with the file on the cloud while this is happening.
