transaction journal error - job codes not coming through in import.

Hi.

I am having an issue with importing from third party software into MYOB Accountright.

Importing procedure i follow is:-

Import as TRANSACTION JOURNAL.

Data is seperated by TAB

First line of the file contains HEADER AND LABELS

Mtach Fields are married up to what apprears on left hand side of screen (Journal Numbers, Date, Memo, Account Number, Debit Amount, Credit Amount and Job)

Batch is imported with a warning.

WARNING: 576 JOB NUMBERS NOT SPECIFIED.

External batch that i am importing clearly shows job codes. These job codes are also in MYOB and they all mirrow each other.

Please help: Any advice as to what i am doing wrong or what is wrong is appreciated.

    Hi MIA2017,

Thank you for your post. I'd like to extend you a warm welcome to the Community Forum. I hope you find it a valuable resource.

Regarding your concern with the error message, kindly check the following:

    • Tick "Warn if jobs are not assigned to all transactions" under Setup menu >> Preferences >> System.
    • When you open the import file in Excel, the job field cells should be formatted to General. This is an important step, as if the cells for this column are formatted to text or numbers, the job will be ignored in the final import regardless of any other setting.

Please let me know if you require any further assistance with this. I'm happy to assist.

    Cheers,

    Princess

      Hi Princess R (MYOB Moderator),

Firstly thank you for responding so promptly.

I have check out settings - preferences  and yes Warn if jobs are not assigned to all transaction is tick.

I then went into Excel and opened the file I wish to import into MYOB. I formatted the  job field cells too General saved and closed file. I opened “Convert GL to MYOB Macrio.xlsm and clicked on Create MYOB File. I am now getting an error message that reads  RUN TIME ERROR “5” INVALID PROCEDURE CALL OR ARGUMENT. See attached snap shot message from trying to debug.

Please advice what the next step is.

      Thanks and Kind regards

        Hi MIA2017,

Thank you for your response. May I know when and where this error message appeared? Is it when you import the files again to MYOB?

        Cheers,

        Princess
