Payroll Reporting Categories

Is it possible to amend amounts allocated to an incorrect category?  I believe amounts allocated to Allowances (for shift allowance) should have been allocated to Gross Payments.  These have been done for relevant employees for the full financial year.

    Hi LRicey

Absolutely! If you need to change the ATO reporting category of allowances to classify them as gross payments instead, you can go ahead and make that adjustment. It's straightforward to amend the amounts allocated, so you should be able to sort it out without any fuss. Once done, make sure to send an update event to have the figures updated to gross payments. If you have any more questions or need further help, feel free to give us a shout!

Thank you Doreen,  could you further advise how to do that correctly because it is for the last financial year and I'd like to amend it before sending EOFY info to the ATO.  Many thanks in advance.

    Hi there LRicey

You will need to check each payroll category you've used for allowances. If the ATO reporting category shows Allowances, change it if needed. Once you have changed those payroll categories to the correct ATO reporting category, you now need to send an update event. This is to ensure that the figures from the allowances will be moved to right category.
