Thank you for your reply.
Regardless of whether or not its designed to be opened in Notepad, the file CAN be viewed in Notepad. We have always done this with various files (not just ABA) as a way of checking if something seems to be incorrect. I did this to investigate where the issue might be.
As suspected, the order it appears in Notepad is the order it is showing in MYOB, AND the order it is loading into the ANZ bank..... NOT in alphabetical order.
I enter the payments in MYOB in alphabetical order and even sort again in alphabetical order before creating the ABA file and MYOB it still creates the ABA out of alphabetical order.
My question is how do I fix this?
Why is MYOB suddenly creating the ABA file out of Alphabetical Order? It has never done this to me before. Is there somewhere in the settings this can be changed?
If anyone can please assist with this it would be appreciated.
Hi Tinks1,
Thanks for explaining it so clearly. The ABA file order is generally driven by how the file is generated in MYOB, and there isn’t normally a setting that lets you manually control or force the payment order within it. So while you can recreate the file, there isn’t currently a way in MYOB to sort or customise the ABA file order the way you’d like.
I came across this forum post where another user shared a suggestion around changing the order. That said, if this has only just started happening and you’ve always done it the same way before, it’d be worth contacting our team to investigate further. So they can investigate whether something has changed. You could also pop this on our Ideas Board as a feature request for more control over ABA file sorting, so other users can vote on it and add support as well.
Cheers,
Princess
