job number and company logo

Hi,

Just a couple of questions

Will there be a way to add your company logo to your invoices?

I am a carpenter, so have lots of receipts. Is there a way to add a job number to the receipts to track expenses for that job. Currently i am just adding a job number under the notes. But it would be nice to filter expenses under a job number

Thank you

  • Hi JBROWNE ,

Thanks so much for reaching out! Great questions. Here's a quick update on where we're at with everything, what happens next, and some possible workarounds and options to help you get what you need while we keep building this out.

    Logo and Invoices

This one's on our radar, and if all goes to plan, by the end of this month, we're aiming to create a business settings menu in the app. This will let you add your logo to the invoice, change the name or business name that appears on the invoice, and generally customise things to fit your business's branding.

In the meantime, I've just checked in with the team to see if we can manually add the logo to your invoice. There are a few technical things in the background that we need to sort out, but if we can do it, I'll circle back here and get this going for you.

Job Numbers and Tracking Expenses per Job

This is a really solid request, and I know Susan_Solo , our Senior Product Manager, will have some follow-up questions around what you'd like here.

It's possible that you might be ready to graduate to something like MYOB Business Lite, which goes a little bit deeper and lets you do things like this. Check out MYOB Business Lite

We could be wrong, though, and I hope you have a quick chat with Sue to figure out if it makes sense for you to make the jump to something more advanced or if we actually need to rethink how expenses work. Either way we'll be here to help :)

    Hi

Ya i am happy to stick with EAP as well to see where things go.

I have run my own business for over 10 years now but always just use spread sheets for accounting and an accountant for tax. So new to the whole accounting software and hoping it would speed the process

I run as a sole trader and only myself in the business so not to complicated. Just lots of invoices.

    thanks

Hi Ben. Thanks for the reply. I have looked at the business lite version and have created an account for this. Seems to have the additional features I need. When I log in now it comes up with the 2 accounts, both having the same budiness name, which are confusing. One being business light and the other EAP. Can you delete the EAP account for me please. Thank you

JBROWNE sad to see you go, but so grateful for the big input you've had in the short time that you've been with us to test things out :)

I should have the EAP app sorted out for you early tomorrow. Thanks for waiting on that. It's a new process and some locked down data - which is a good thing.

Out of curiosity, if it was an option to stick around to see where things go and the account names weren't confusing - would you be interested? This might not be possible, but I can find out.

  • I'm in the same boat with some pretty ugly looking Google sheets and Google doc invoice templates and an accountant that has basically been the main reason I get my tax done before the ATO starts writing letters.

So far the app has been a lot more straightforward for me than all of that. I have hardly any expenses though.

Do you track materials/expenses and then invoice for them after the job?

      HI

Most my jobs are quoted, so cost already worked out. But I am supposed to track expenses to a Job number so the ATO can see that, if asked. But i also like to track my expenses after a job to see if i stayed on budget or need to charge more

Sometimes on smaller jobs i just charge a cost + rate. So then need to track expenses for this too.

On average I do between 150-200 receipts a quarter and 10-20 invoices a quarter

  • Great news!

    Simply follow these steps:

    1. Click More > Invoice Setting
    2. Click Invoice template
    3. Edit logo, colour, or contact details
    4. Click Preview Template to make sure it's all as it should be!
