Bank and MYOB don't match

Hi all,

Like the title, my bank balance (which is correct) doesn't match with what MYOB thinks is there, short by about $1800.

It was all good until I received some invoice payments, it was actually correct after allocating the payments to the cent, but after a couple of days on logging back in it shows a discrepancy.

And now today another bank account shows a discrepancy also after just 1 transaction with the bank also correct.

I know MYOB can be a bit laggy but.....

Any thoughts😒😒😒😒

I have just lodged a case # 03424352 for a client using MYOB Business where the statement shows as reconciled on 30/6/26 but the reconciliation report shows a different balance by $100 and subsequent reconciliations are out by this amount as well. I have forward reconciled to 30/06/9999 and unreconciled  prior to 30/06/2026 and the dame thing keeps happening. also, when I enter the reconciliation date as 01/10/2026, a transaction for 06/10/2026 appears on the bank reconciliation screen. The bank reconciliations in MYOB seem to constantly have bugs and it's very frustrating using such an unreliable program.

    Regards

    Hi PullmyFinger,

Thanks for mapping out what’s happening. can see how concerning it is when the balances matched and then changed. I can't give you a definitive fix without digging deeper, so we'll need to figure out what threw it off.

When your MYOB numbers don't match your actual bank statement, it’s usually due to timing delays, duplicate transactions, or payments stuck in a holding account. To start troubleshooting, try doing a future-dated bank reconciliation to see if that squares things up. You can also run a report up to the last date it balanced to see if your invoice payments are hiding in Undeposited Funds, or if a bank feed got allocated as a new transaction rather than matched up. Your best bet next is to reach out to our support team via our Contact page. Pass these troubleshooting steps along to them, and they'll help you get everything back on track.

    Cheers,
