Trial Balance

I am working on a clients data and it looks like the Trial Balance is outputting on a cash basis - the GST on the debtors is not reflected in the GST accounts but the Debtors in the GL are GST inclusive.

I have not come across this issue before.

Is there an area in settings that permits a trial balance to output in cash mode rather than accrual?

  • Hi Kathy,

Yes, MYOB does allow you to choose whether reports are displayed on a Cash or Accrual basis.

If your Trial Balance appears to be on a Accrual basis, check the Report Settings:

Go to Settings > Report Settings.

Under Business Settings, look for Accounting Method.

Select Cash if you want the Trial Balance and other reports to reflect Cash accounting.

    Click Save.
