Foreign characters in Exo Business and - Companies operating in Thailand

Does anyone look after any companies operating in Thailand?  On any product? :-)   Specifically, does anyone know if are there any critical compliance constraints or idiosyncrasies that would pre...

    Got a helpful and timely response from the Federation of Accounting Practitioners in Thailand :-)

     

    Dear Sam,
    There is no list of certified accounting software available in Thailand. The users can buy any software applications that suit their business.

Cheers Carl, Everything seems usual, and well within the capabilities of Exo Business with extra fields if required (probably not)  and tax key point configuration.

The Key fact is that, from the horse's mouth below,  there is no such list of exclusive compliant software vendors, which was the hypothesis that was being proposed.

Does your prospect have a requirement to store/display non-English characters in EXO?

    Not my prospect Dave,  I posted on Enprise NZ behalf.  

     

    They might want to have some Thai characters in some extra fields. Maybe on some customer facing documents (Invoices or statement layouts etc) but no stated expectation of this. Their user is very familiar with Exo Business capabilities already.  Certainly, no stated expectation to have the operator's UI in anything other than English. 

     

    Are you going somewhere with that?

      I was heading somewhere Sam_LR :smileyhappy:

       

      I've had fun and games in the past getting EXO to cope with Chinese character sets and expect that Thai characters would be no different. 

       

      It was an easy fix with Windows XP with the installation of the relevant Language Packs, but we had difficulty with later versions of Windows.    That said, we were only 'having a play' to see what could be done and were never in a postion where we had to resolve the issue.  Consequently we downed tools after only expending a small amount of effort, so there may be an easy (or at least an easy-ish) fix?

        Thought so. 

        There was a version that didn't support NVarchar in Extra fields.  But to my knowledge, Extra fields will store and display Extended character sets.  2016.3.x release note history includes this entry.
