Add a timesheet not start a shift

Hi christiewn​ - welcome to the forum and thanks for your question.

 

If the app only shows “Start shift”, your payroll admin has set you up for clock-on/clock-off rather than manual timesheet entry. The “+” button appears when the location’s time-capture method is set to Timesheets.

 

Please ask your payroll admin to check the time-capture setting for your location in the MYOB Team admin portal (here is a help topic that will help them with this). You must also be set up with an Hourly pay basis and have the Base Hourly wage category assigned.

 

Once this is configured, go to the Time screen in the MYOB Team app and tap “+” to enter the date, start and finish times, breaks and any notes. You won’t need to start and end a shift.

Thanks Adrian. We have a Location set with the Time Capture Method as Timesheets but still cannot get it to work correctly.

For the Location that is set to Timesheets, when an employee logs into the App, goes to Time and selects the + symbol next to where it says Timesheets, the app takes them to the Add an Activity screen instead of Add a Timesheet. This means they are unable to enter start and end times of breaks. Is there another setting we need to change to get this to work?

    Hi christiewn,

     

    Thanks for the detailed rundown. It’s not ideal when the app takes you to a different screen than expected, despite confirming your time capture type. This means a quick setting needs to be toggled on in your MYOB file. Try these quick troubleshooting steps:

    • In your MYOB file, go to Setup > Preferences > System and make sure I use timesheets for payroll is selected
    • Have your employee clear the cache in their MYOB Team app
    • If the option is still missing, try deleting and recreating the location, then send fresh invites to your employees
