Will SMS 2fa cost me or spam me?

I'm not keen on getting SMS from software providers, dont want to be charged or spammed. If i turn on SMS 2FA with myob, will it cost me money or mean more marketing texts ?

  • Hey SMercer

Gaz_3778 is correct, receiving SMS 2FA text messages in Australia is usually free of charge, but definitely check with your mobile provider if you're unsure.

Users tend to use the authenticator app as their main 2FA method, and then SMS as a backup method if they temporarily lose access to the app or change mobile phones.

We use your mobile number to confirm it's really you for verification purposes, we do not use it for marketing unless you've agreed to marketing communications. You can always update your communication preferences via your My Account dashboard. Step by step instructions can be found on this page - you'll want to scroll down to the bottom FAQ 'How do I view or change my MYOB communication preferences?'

  • Receiving these kinds of texts is usually free for me, but check with your mobile provider to be sure
