Any "," in an import like that will throw an import wildly - and will give you odd errors.
Convert to tab delineated imports and get rid of commas in addresses - they are a huge headache and in item descriptions - people use them without thought.
You can import with commas included but you have to enclose everything in open and closed speech marks and I just find that an even bigger problem.

The files are tab delimited already. I've been uploading POs and items from last two months with commas and never had an issue. There are times when you can't avoid it.
Just to be double sure, I uploaded both (ITEM and Purchase) files in my MYOB clearwater test environment and it happened without any issue.
I'll wait for more detailed explanations.

Apologies for the delay in response.
If you're still experiencing this problem, can you just try importing one purchase line, delete the number from the import file and re-enter it, and let us know if the problem exists? Before doing so, please also untick the preference for warning for duplicates under Setup>>Preferences>>Purchases to rule out any interference caused by this setting.
