Salary sacrifice

I have made to payments for FY2025 additional super contribution and FY2026 reserved super contribution, that need to be reported in STP. How do I report in STP?

    Hi Jennifer141

Thanks for sending through those details. You’ve got a couple of ways to sort this: you can either run a pay with an unreported wage amount just to even out the salary sacrifice amount you need to show or lodge the salary sacrifice with the ATO manually. You just need something in there for the system to take the salary sacrifice from. Also, it's best to ask advice from an accountant to make sure you are recording it as accurately as possible.

    Hi Jennifer141

This one’s a bit of a curly question! If you set up STP in MYOB, salary sacrifice is automatically included in your STP reporting every pay run. However, if you haven't set up STP in MYOB you will need to reach out to ATO for manual reporting.

  • Hi Genreve,

I have set up STP in MYOB, and have been using if for weekly payroll. This payment was for the owner of the business and these two amounts were advised as salary sacrifice contributions by the accountant.

They were one off payments and no salary was taken to offset these payments as a deduction.

The accountant has advised they need to be reported in STP and maybe I need to set up a new payroll category to do this. I don't want the payment to be allocated in Superannuation payable as a liability as I have already paid it
