It would be great if there was a way of bulk deleting, or bulk merging of unused cards and especially items.

Michelle,
Further to my earlier reply, while you could purge old transactions in Premier Classic v19 & earlier, you could not then delete the card.

Hello Michelle,
I would resolve this issue for your Suppliers by using the Combine Cards feature in MYOB.
Firstly create a new card named something like ZOLD SUPPLIERS, and use this to combine all your old supplier cards. for furthur details see these Support Notes -

This method will not work for Employee Cards however.
You can also use this for old and duplicate Accounts.

am using Account Right Plus 2015.3 and have rolled over to 15/16.
Since I no longer have any control of purging data I am still stuck with over 50 obsolete employee cards.
Yes i have made them inactive, yes put a z in front so they all drop to bottom and yes changed the employment basis to other but why are they still not able to be deleted since they have been inactive since 2011.
If MYOB are not going to let me delete them, then at least do something to stop ANY inactive cards showing in ANY drop down lists, ANY payroll category selections and ANY reports.
Same with supplier cards.... I keep copies of old files, I do not need obsolete information to stay in the active year file forever. If you are not going to let me choose what information is kept in rollovers then at least do something about being able to get rid of VERY OLD information... driving me nuts every rollover.
I don't want bulk deletions neccessarily - just to be able to purge and delete as I could on premier.
you could have it on the export data sheet so you could use it on a excel spread sheet, like the way we have to do bulk inactive files ect. then you could save 2 copys under different names/files incase you needed to go back to the previous file.
There would need to be away to verify what records are being deleted first...
Have a look at the following link, it may help.

Yes please - especially crucial for inactive items. I have clients with 10's of thousands of stock codes - no longer used.
I am unable to delete old employee cards even though they have not been used for over 7 years. Please put a program in place to allow this.
Good afternoon to all the Subscribers,
I have a list of Suppliers and Clients alike that I no longer use for the past several years (4 to 6 years). Adding new clients and suppliers makes the lists longer and less user friendly. I have deactivated those I no longer wish to use but they remain on the list because of prior years' history which I do have on back up should I ever need to go back to that data.
Anybody with a smart solution, please! I shall very much appreciate your advice.
Nico
Hi Nico,
We at Accounting Addons provide a facility where this type of process can be automated in bulk to speed time.
In the past, customers would send us their database and we would cleanse it overnight or over the weekend. However, we have made some progress into make this solution closer to being useable on site. You would possibly be guinea pigs, however :-)
If you are interested, first check out this page http://accountingaddons.com.au/services/data-cleansing/ and drop us a line.

Adding on to this, it is possible to delete old cards when all historic transactions attached to them have been purged. This is a very cumbersome process and causes so much grief that often plan B is used - putting 'ZZZ' in front of the name of the card and making it inactive.
It would be fantastic if there was an easier way to purge or de-link transactions from cards which would subsequently allow the cards to be deleted.
