Two suggestions for temporary workarounds (in case you hadn't thought of them: 

1. Each invoice comes with a Notes to customer field. You could include a note about the 50% deposit requirement, with a due date for that payment (but you'd need to take the payment by direct deposit or BPay)
2. Issue a deposit invoice (using Notes to customer to indicate this is 50% deposit), and then a final invoice (using Notes to customer to indicate it is the remaining 50% balance.

I also would love a deposit invoice option.  I make personalised items and required a 50% deposit before I start creating the designs and artwork samples.

I am at my 3rd invoicing app for sole traders and my line of work, I think is probably the most demanding in terms of invoicing features.

I really like the all in one aspect of MYOB solo but these things are pretty inconvenient not to have. 
I have already made a post for T&Cs that has been turned as a vote. Basically all we need is a written section that can be recorded and applied to every invoice. Just like the “Note to customer” you already have in MYOB but be able to make it recurring.

I need a 50% deposit request on the same invoice. It’s too hard keeping track when you have many customers and send 2 invoices to each..

also need to write T&Cs.. and quotes.. That’s a lot of missing features that potentially will never see daylight.. and yes, I have “voted” in every single one of these.. sorry but I am starting to think I need to go back to Square.
