GL Journals not recording

Please fix the issue with GL Journals not recording (per below). See attached

I've been using AccountRight msi (offline version) for a number of years with a number of company files. The current version being used 2025.11

About 2 months ago I detected an issue with general journals not being recorded to the ledger (despite no error being displayed) For example:-

  • I enter a journal > click "Record"
  • I run the general journal for the date in question, and the entry just "recorded" is not there.

This happens repeatedly and occurs across the different company files.

I contacted MYOB support who provided a very onerous "fix", only to find the issue presents again.

The "fix" involves:-

  1. backing up the company file,
  2. locating and deleting myob cache,
  3. deleting the company file,
  4. unzipping the backup file
  5. restoring the company file from the backup,
  6. adding the company file back to the library,
  7. opening the file to check a security setting,
  8. unchecking the security setting,
  9. exiting myob,
  10. restarting myob.

This works sporadically, and when it doesn't work, I need to repeat the above until it does.

This has become very frustrating, very onerous, administratively crippling, commercially inhibitive and unsustainable.

Each time I enter a transaction I need to check it to verify it has been recorded, and if it hasn't, I need to carry-out the 10-step "fix" above.

Something has changed with the myob logic in an update since 2025.3. This was the last version I had installed (prior to updating to 2025.11) that did not exhibit this behaviour.

Does anybody have any news regarding this and when a fix is likely to be released?

Thank-you.

Regards,

Peter

    Hi schryan,

You’ve clearly put a lot of time into tracking what’s happening with those journals across different files, and the way you’ve had to keep repeating that long workaround would wear anyone down. We're aware of a problem where created transactions don't end up recording. To get things back on track, you can follow the steps below and then re-enter any journals that are missing:

    • Install the latest Windows updates:
      • Open Settings > Windows Update.
      • Click Check for updates.
      • Install all available updates, including optional updates.
    • Restart your computer with a full system restart (not just a sleep/wake).
    • Open AccountRight and re‑enter any transactions that didn’t save.

If you’re not too sure how to install the updates, it’s best to get in touch with your IT person. And if Windows tells you everything’s “up to date” or you’ve already installed updates but the issue is still hanging around, it’s worth checking that any optional updates are installed, then giving the computer a proper restart before trying again.

    Cheers,

    Doreen
