Appreciate and agree with all stated scenarios. Previously when on leave, the ATO have allowed for STP lodgement deferrals: employees still get paid but I clean up the legality of it all (with lodgement) when I return. Really thought being able to forward date in MYOB would be the answer, still leaves the cash-flow issue but would be one step in the right direction. I understand I should be "replaceable" but apart from needing a few weeks off each year, it's not feasible for the confidentiality reasons mentioned by others, access as mentioned by others... let alone the ATO have not made it easy to give others the authority-access with so many identity hoops to jump through - good as they are, of course. Best solution perhaps, though I too have looked to MYOB, would be the ATO granting lodgement AND payment deferral like is presently allowed re STP.
