I am trying to print Profit and Loss for July 22, the option for this date is not available. Normally this happens when an earlier financial year has not been closed off. When I go to close year, systems shows "close 2021 financial year" ... I am not ready to close off this year.
Any ideas.?

You are spot on with the cause, the Profit and Loss report can only be run for the current financial year of the file, the year before and the year after. July 2022 is in FY 2023, while your file is still in FY 2021, therefore you are unable to run P&L report for FY 2023.
Therefore, you do need to finalise and close off FY 2021 first. If you are in a rush to run the report, you can consider making backup file, close the FY so you can run the report, then restore from the backup made to overwrite the current file after.
